Rules

BODY:
-Any body 1975 and older
-Steel or Fiberglass Body O.K.
-No wings or spoilers over 8"

CHASSIS:
-Any chassis allowed as long as it meets the following requirements
-Minimum wheel base 103"
-No independent rear suspensions
-Brakes are required on three wheels (no r.f. o.k.)
-All weight ballast must be painted white
-All weight ballast must be branded with car number
-All weight ballast must have at least two ½” bolts, per 50 lbs
-All weight ballast must have two ½ “ bolts, or be in caged
-No weight ballast allowed in the drivers compartment

Weight
-Any car running w/spec engine 2600# min. weight
-Any car running w/unlimited engine or after market trans, 2900# min. weight
-For each feature event win, must add an additional 50 lbs

ENGINE:
-No Electronic Fuel Injection
-No Electric Fuel Pumps

Transmission and Clutch:
-O.E. Transmissions (unless club approves special consideration)
-Must be capable of two forward gears and reverse
-Must use a scatter shield or a steel bell housing
-Driveshaft Loop required - 6" from front u-joint
-May run any aftermarket trans (Bert, Brinn, and Falcon, etc) must weigh 2900 lbs min.

Rear End:
-Not required to match vehicle make
-Quickchange Style rear ends are allowed
-No Electronic Traction Devices

Wheels and Tires:
-Racing Wheels Required
-5/8" Wheel Studs Required
-1" Lug Nuts Required
-Any Racing Tire O.K.
-Any racing or DOT tire. No snow tires allowed

Safety:
-FIRE SUIT REQUIRED min. SFI 1  (coat, pants, boots and gloves)
-Helmet (must meet min. snell rating sa2000/sa2005)
-Neck restrain recommended (neck roll, hans, hutchens, ect.)
-Five Point Safety Belts (3", no older than two years)
-Must have window net or arm restraints
-Master electrical disconnect, mounted accessible from the outside of car recommended
-Battery must be securely fastened outside of the drivers compartment
-SFI approved fuel cell (bladder must be mounted in steel can)
-Full front and rear fire walls and complete decking required
-Car numbers must be visible on both side panels and roof, must be contrasting color to car
 (roof number must be 24" tall and side panel numbers must be 18" tall)

General:
All cars competing with M.O.V.R., members or not, must comply with club and track Safety Rules
All Decisions made by track officials are final and are not arguable
Any car black flagged for any reason other than mechanical failure will forfeit all points for
that event

 

Points Rules

M.O.V.R. Championship Points system is designed to reward drivers for attending events, finishing races safely while performing competitively.  Championship Trophies will be awarded to top 10 drivers. Club funds are divided among all drivers for attending club events.

1. Car must be M.O.V.R. member to compete for points championship.

2.  Car must meet M.O.V.R. rules to receive points towards the points
     championship.

3.  Any car found ineligible after the feature will not receive any points
    for that event.

4. Two heat races will be held if the total car count exceeds ten.           
     Drivers will draw for heat position.

5. All members will race in one feature event.  Starting position will be
   determined by current point standings.  The driver with the lowest
   points will set the poll and so on, with the points champion starting  in
   last place.

6. Championship points is decided based on  75% of races ran.  (if 20 events are
    completed, 75% equals 15 races ran.  A driver takes his best 15 finishes out of the
    20 races ran)


Points Accumulation:
Attend M.O.V.R. Event - 40 pts.
Start Heat Race -10 pts.

Finish Heat Race - 10 pts.
Start Feature Race – 10 pts.

Finish Feature Race - 10 pts.

Feature Finish Points
1st    - 20 pts.
2nd   - 18 pts.
3rd   - 16 pts.
4th   - 14 pts.
5th   - 12 pts.
6th   - 10 pts.
7th   - 9 pts.
8th   - 8 pts.
9th   - 7 pts.
10th - 6 pts.
11th - 5 pts.
12th - 4 pts.
13th - 2 pts.
14th-2 pts
